Coturnix quail are one of the most rewarding birds to raise. These compact, hardy little birds grow quickly, require very little space, and begin laying eggs in as little as 5–6 weeks. Our Celadon line Coturnix quail are especially exciting because they carry the rare celadon gene, producing beautiful true blue eggs or we have a Celadon-mix line that produce the slightly larger brown mottled egg with a blue or green tint. 

Don’t let their tiny size fool you—quail are curious, entertaining, and surprisingly productive. A small covey can provide a steady supply of delicious eggs while bringing plenty of personality to your yard or aviary. Their gentle cooing sounds and quick, busy movements make them fascinating birds to watch.

Celadon quail eggs are a favorite among hobby keepers and breeders alike because of their unique sky-blue shells, something rarely seen in other poultry. Whether you're raising them for eggs, breeding projects, or simply the joy of keeping quail, these little birds pack a lot of charm into a small package.

M&M Hobby Farm is a small hobby farm located in Wahiawā, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi. Our birds are raised with close daily care, quality feed, and careful monitoring to ensure they grow into strong, healthy birds.

We offer both chicks and adult quail, depending on availability.

• Chicks are hatched based on our waitlist, we may have some immediately available 
• Adults or started birds may occasionally be available for those who want birds closer to egg-laying age

Because quail thrive in social groups, we recommend purchasing a minimum of 4 birds so they can grow comfortably with their covey.

Chicks

$15 straight-run chicks under 8 weeks

Adult/Started Birds
$10 adult males (usually able to be visually sexed around 6-8 weeks) 
$20 adult laying female

Availability of started or adult birds varies and may be limited.

About the Waitlist Deposit

This listing is a 50% deposit to reserve your spot on our waitlist for Celadon Coturnix Quail chicks or available birds.

Straight-run chicks are typically ready for pick-up about 1 week after hatch - please have appropriate housing ready. We will ask about your set up at purchase. 

Started or adult birds may occasionally be available for immediate pickup depending on flock availability.

When it’s your turn on the waitlist, we’ll contact you to schedule your pick-up and collect the remaining balance.

Important Policies

Deposits are non-refundable if you decide not to take a bird or do not show up for your scheduled pick-up time.

Quail chicks are sold straight-run (unsexed) held for a minimum of one week after hatch before going to their new homes. This allows us time to monitor their health, strength, and development so they transition successfully. 

Straight-run reservations for quail made before or shortly after hatch are prioritized before sexed reservations.

If you request a specific sex, please note that wait times may be longer since hatch ratios cannot be guaranteed.

If the requested sex is not available within 90 days of your waitlist date, you may request a refund of your deposit. Please request photos of quail if needed however we will fulfill your order with farm choice. 

If you choose to pass when contacted, you will be moved to the end of the waitlist and your 90-day window will restart.

A live waitlist link will be emailed once you are added and is updated in real time.

Additional birds may be purchased at pick-up if available.

Don't want to wait 6+ weeks for your male or female? DNA Testing for sex is available! Testing is performed between 1–2 weeks after hatch. Please message us to discuss this option.

Photos shown are from past hatches and represent a range of possible feather patterns and stages of growth. Photos of currently available birds will be sent prior to pick-up when applicable.
